Neighborhood Meeting Set on Hart Hardware
Councilman Charlie Tygard has scheduled a neighborhood meeting for Tuesday, May 13, to discuss the proposed Hart/Ace Hardware store on Highway 100 next to the Kroger shopping center.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Harpeth Valley Elementary School Cafeteria, "so the developers can present their plans to the community prior to going before the Planning Commission on May 22," Councilman Tygard said.

"There will be comment cards avilable at the meeting for those who might not be able to attend the Planning Commission meeting," he added.

Richard Jones of World Realty said that Bill Forte of the engineering firm of Barge Cauthern & Associates and architect Michael Hindman will be designing the development. Drawings of the proposed hardware store will be presented at the meeting.

Fort, Hindeman and Bellevue Resident Frank Shope, owner of Hart Hardware and developer of the project, are expected to be present to answer questions.

Shope is proposing to build a 10-12,000 square foot Ace Hardware store on property to the west of Trace Creek Shopping Center on Highway 100. The land is currently zoned residential and will require rezoning for the store to be built.
