Speed Deterrents Within Poplar Creek Estates
In response to continued speeding and the danger it presents, Metro has striped our streets to narrow the roadway visually and deter speeding along our main roadways, Poplar Creek Trace and Collinswood Road. Metro has also installed cautionary signs along these roads warning drivers to slow down for incoming traffic. Please note that the speed limit in these marked areas is now 25mph. Metro Police have been asked to increase speed limit enforcement in these areas.

The Poplar Creek Estates Board would like to remind residents that the striping is present to deter speeding and not define parking areas. As a matter of policy, the Board of Directors continues to ask all residents to refrain from parking vehicles along the sides of streets, particularly, in situations where doing so can cause obstructions in the view of the road such as in bends in roads or parking too close to corners.

25MPH THAT'S A LITTLE EXTREME DON'T YA THINK AS A DRIVER WHO ALWAYS DRIVES 30-35 IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND ALWAYS WATCHES FOR CHILDREN,PEOPLE,ANIMAS ETC. I FEEL THAT 25 IS WAY TO CLOSE TO A CRAWL.

These strips have not slowed traffic but caused people to drive down the middle of the road. In my opinion they are to narrow. I have to straddle the lines when another SUV is coming the opposite direction. Even before the strips were added we had a problem with residents parking on the sides of streets. There is a white truck that parks near the corner of Autumnwood and Collinswood every night. This makes it very difficult to see traffic coming down the hill when pulling off Autumnwood.
